Applying

We have made applying to Episcopal Day School simple! Families are able to apply completely online and track their admission status after submissions. Serving children from Early Childhood through Middle School, EDS admits and fosters the growth of children from all backgrounds and cultures who can contribute to and benefit from our educational programs and embrace our mission. At EDS, we are committed to offering academic excellence and character development in a supportive, energetic environment, providing emotional, intellectual, physical, social and spiritual nurturing to all students.

First

Sign up for a tour or attend an admissions event. Submit application with correlating required forms.

Next

Admissions committee reviews applicants and notifies applicants of their status.

Then

New student contracts are due 10 days following receipt.

Application Process

Applications are accepted throughout the year when positions are open. A non-refundable application fee of $100 must be submitted with each application. The following materials must be submitted in order to complete the student file such that it can be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.

  • Completed [online application]
  • Current and last year’s report cards (entering grades 1st – 8th)
  • Most recent standardized test scores, where applicable for all grades
  • Teacher Recommendation Form(s)
  • Principal Recommendation Form
  • Visitation on Campus

Visitation Day

After an application is submitted and academic and behavioral qualifications are reviewed, students will be scheduled for a visitation day on campus. They will attend classes, meet teachers and students, and have an opportunity to experience a typical day at EDS. Students entering as PreK2 through Kindergarten will be scheduled to attend a 2-hour “play date” with teachers and staff. The student’s approach to academic and social development is assessed during their visit.

Acceptance

The Admissions Committee reviews the applicant’s materials and makes a recommendation regarding acceptance. Students must meet the school’s academic and behavioral standards to gain and retain admission. Once a recommendation is made to admit the student, an email will be sent with acceptance status. Priority admission consideration is given to students, with no priority rank order, in the following categories:

  • Siblings of enrolled students
  • Children of members of Christ Church Parish
  • Children of members of other Episcopal parishes
  • Children and siblings of EDS Alumni
  • Former EDS students in good standing

Wait Pool

When a class is filled to capacity, all qualified applicants are placed in a wait pool until an opening occurs for which they are qualified.
